I have used Beuchat Mundial Competition fins for 9 years for spearfishing and when a blade eventually broke I: (1) ordered 2 replacement blades (these should be priced a bit cheaper I think) & fitting kits (ditto) and I also (2) ordered a second pair of these fins (this order in fact). I did think about upgrading the blades and/or the fins but decided there was nothing I could fault in the originals and there was much to be pleased with - so perhaps best to stick with them. Fancier blades and fins are so much more expensive too. Although not the best nor the cheapest fins, they offer excellent value. The Beuchat footpockets are rated highly for fitting long slender feet (on DeeperBlue.com forum) yet the fit my broad, stocky feet very well, both with and without socks (I sometimes spear without socks in the Summer). The blades are plastic but have stood up to hard use (I weighed around 250lb for much of those 9 years), abuse (I was learning when I first got them) and painting (my blades were blue originally but I tried all kinds of paints to camo them: oil based house & artists paints worked best ;) ). However Beuchat offer another option which is worth of your consideration. The Beuchat Ocean Legend fins are about half the price of these fins and yet have same the same size plastic blades - the only catch I can see is that the blades are not replaceable :(. Glad too that these fins now come with black (or brown or green) blades - better for spearing than blue in UK's murky waters.
